Brazil thrash Argentina 3-1 to book a place in the World Cup 2010, South Africa.

Argentina Coach, Diego Maradona took complete blame for the defeat. Brazil joined South Africa, Japan, Australia, Korea Republic, Netherlands, Korea DPR and Ghana as qualified teams for the Cup.
Portugal ended up with a 1 – 1 draw against Denmark.
With Portugal and Argentina both struggling to cement their place in the World Cup, the organizers are wary and hoping that these teams qualify since they house star powers such as FIFA player of the year – Cristiano Ronaldo and FIFA player of the year runner up – Lionnel Messi, respectively.
Defending champions Italy played Georgia and must have surely included Georgia skipper Kakha Kalaze in their end-of-match celebrations as he scored both the Italian goals (own goals)!
Spain won convincingly against Belgium, the scoreline read 5-0.

England recorded a 2-1 win over Slovenia but not without controversy. Rooney allegedly dived to gain a penalty, which was later converted by Lampard.
Ghana 2-0 Sudan also qualified with Chelsea’s Michael Essien scoring the second goal.

lol funny I was just thinking the same thing
Hi guys,I like your site and it looks very interesting and easy to read, really!. I am from Denmark. I love the Soccer and cannot wait till 11th June, can you?.But there is a problem camming from FIFA. It is that doesn´t choose the best teams in this planet for the World Cup which it should otherwise don´t call the World Cup a final, if you want to play football for the soul of competition then go to the olympics games. this is exactly what the World Cup is turning to, and it su…, ire needed to beat spain to be in and is not, jap beat lowly teams as bahrain, qatar, kuwait, to be in, is this justice I dont think so, just because you are in the World Cup it doesn´t mean that you have the quality to be in like jap can attes. Any way, I expect to see a interesting final on 11th July and my favorite winner team is Paraguay, and my favorite player is Danny Alves.Good blog and keep going.Cu!
Cool post, but the posts don’t show up properly on my iPad…maybe you ought to take a look. Thanks, anyway.
Yes the World Cup is surely missing some good teams, teams like Ireland who competed with spirit. It was sad to see the way they were eliminated.
Anyway I’m looking ahead to watching Spain play and hopefully clinch the Cup!
hmm will hv to look into tht
Exactly ideas that i has been hunting for. Very well put too.
