Wigan pass the Chelsea test with flying colours!

Wigan won 3-1 at home against Chelsea, terminating Chelsea’s 100% league win record.

Paul Scharner’s last minute goal added insult to the already injured Chelsea team, who earlier lost Petr Cech in the 51st minute, after he was sent off for fouling Hugo Rodallega. Rodallega converted from the spot and gave Wigan the lead. Titus Bramble netted one early for Wigan (16′). Drogba scored his 100th Chelsea goal in the 47th minute, but ended on the losing side.

Henrique Hilario came on for Cech and from then on Wigan made their one-man advantage count and surged ahead to record their first win against the ‘big four’. Ancelloti tried to remain positive sending in Salomon Kalou for Boswinga 10 minutes past the hour mark. Chelsea kept building on pressure but couldn’t seal a comeback.
