It was a thrilling round of Quarter Final matches in the U-20 World Cup, the most electrifying being the Italy – Hungary encounter.
All together there were 4 red cards in the match, Italy having 3 send-off’s and Hungary with one.
Hungary managed to score the fastest goal of the tournament when Matteo Gentili shoved Krisztian Nemeth in the penalty area. Even though Italy suffered setbacks they showed spirit and equalized to send the match into extra time. Hungary once again took the lead but Italy leveled, until Krisztian Nemeth steered the decider for Hungary.
Brazil came from behind to beat Germany and secure a place in the semi’s. Costa Rica too didn’t start off well, going a goal down in the 33rd minute. But Josue Martinez equalized within four minutes and Marcos Urena sent home the winner from a free-kick.
The 2nd semi-final’s will be an all South American clash.
