Blackburn manager- Sam Allardyce has accused the Premier League officials for not postponing the his club’s clash with Chelsea over the weekend, despite being informed of swine flu cases.
5 (3 players, 2 staff) Blackburn members are currently suffering with swine flu and Allardyce stated that allowing the game to go ahead could have spread the virus.
Earlier in the week, a French Ligue 1 match between Paris St Germain and Marseille, had to be deferred because of swine flu possibilities.
Bolton manager Gary Megson also revealed that members of his squad had gone down with swine flu.
Footballers have been warned that spitting could increase the risk of spreading swine flu. The Health Protection Agency said the “disgusting” habit – a common sight at many matches – could lead to infections being passed on.
