Roma move into 2nd place after a 2-1 victory at home to leaders Inter Milan.
Claudio Ranieri’s team reduced Inter’s top-of-the-table advantage to only a point, thanks to Luca Toni’s winner. The club has now moved above AC Milan to grab the 2nd spot in the Italian league table.
The home side were lucky that Inter didn’t score any more; both through Diego Milito, who hit woodwork twice and Walter Samuel, who headed against bar. A mistake by goalkeeper Julio Cesar brought about Daniele De Rossi’s opener for the hosts.
Jose Mourinho’s team drew level in the 66th minute through Wesley Sneijder. Striker Luca Toni on-loan from Bayern Munich, netted the winner six minutes later, after a wayward shot by substitute Rodrigo Taddei dropped in his path.
In other Serie A news; Palermo go four points clear of fifth-placed Sampdoria with 3-1 win over Bologna.
