The Irish take on France in the World Cup Playoff’s on November 14 in Dublin and November 18 in Paris :

Goalkeepers : Given (Manchester City), Westwood (Coventry City), J.Murphy (Scunthorpe).

Defenders : R.Dunne (Aston Villa), J.O’Shea (Manchester United), St.Ledger (Middlesbrough), Kilbane and McShane (Hull City), S.Kelly (Fulham), E.Nolan (Preston North End), O’Dea (Reading).

Midfielders : McGeady (Celtic Glasgow), D.Duff (Fulham), K.Andrews (Blackburn Rovers), G.Whelan and L.Lawrence (Stoke City), L.Miller (Hibernian), D.Gibson (Manchester United), S.Hunt (Hull City), Keogh (Wolverhampton Wanderers).

Forwards : R.Keane (Tottenham Hotspur), K.Doyle (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Long (Reading), L.Best (Coventry City), Stokes (Hibernian).

Probable lineup (4-4-2) : Given,  St.Ledger, J.O’Shea, R.Dunne, Kilbane, D.Duff, K.Andrews, G.Whelan, McGeady, K.Doyle, R.Keane.

Trapattoni has left out Steven Reid, Andy Reid, Steve Finnan and Clinton Morrison out of his squad.

Trapattoni said:

“We performed strongly throughout the qualifying group stages. We were undefeated in all ten games and this is a reflection of how we have played and also the mental strength of this team. France have a strong squad but we go into this play-off knowing that we are only 180 minutes away from qualifying for the World Cup.”
