    Referee from the controversial Sunderland v Liverpool encounter might face the axe from the remainder of the Premier League. He had earlier adjudged the “beach-ball goal” legitimate, which helped Sunderland secure a win over The Reds.

    Drogba put Chelsea ahead with a nice touch to get some space and then a shot on goal that could’ve been saved by Fridel.
    Villa later equalized through a corner, scored by Dunne. The second Villa goal came from another set-piece, when Collins was left unmarked in the box.

  • Liverpool star duo out
    Both Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard are out of The Reds fixture against Sunderland on Saturday, due to injuries acquired during international duty. Liverpool have to also cope with more injury worries with defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos injuring his knee in Greece’s win over Luxembourg. Rafael Benitez said

    “They (Gerrard and Torres) are both at roughly the same stage of their recovery, they are close, but they will not be ready for this match. We are hoping both players are ready for the Champions League game against Lyon at Anfield on Tuesday.”

  • Dramatic qualification for Honduras into the World Cup
    A scene that looked like it was straight out of a Hollywood movie! Honduras had won their match against El Salvador, but had given up hopes of booking a WC berth since Costa Rica were leading USA 2-1. However, moments after the Honduran – El Salvador match ended, the Honduran fans erupted with joy as USA scored an equalizer in the 4th minute of injury time, which helped Honduras qualify.
  • U-20 World Cup, Egypt

  • Hungary overcome Costa Rica to win bronze
    Normal time couldn’t decide a winner for the game as it went down to penalties, in which Hungary triumphed.
  • Ghana 4-3 Brazil in the Finals
    Ghana looked for revenge and succeeded against Brazil, although Brazil looked more attacking. A 10-men Ghana were triumphant after the match went down to penalties. Regulation time, nor extra-time saw a goal being scored, but opportunities were a plenty. Brazil lead even on penalties, until Maicon missed but Adiyiah(Ghana) scored. Teixiera’s(Brazil) effort was saved by the keeper and A.Badu scored securing gold for Ghana.
