Australia’s World Cup squad reached Johannesburg on Wednesday, 26th May 2010, becoming the first team to arrive in South Africa for this month’s Football World Cup! Coach Pim Verbeek told reporters:

Germany’s World Cup squad could be without their captain and charismatic player Michael Ballack. Ballack suffered an ankle injury in Chelsea’s FA Cup match against Portsmouth, after a late tackle by Kevin-Prince Boateng. The 33-year-old was set to play in his third World Cup. The ankle too swollen to undergo a scan.
Boateng Brothers Head To Head
Half-brothers Jerome and Kevin-Prince Boateng can look ahead at the possiblity of playing each other at the upcoming World Cup 2010. Jerome has been selected in the German squad, while Kevin Prince has been named in the Ghana squad. The two grew up in Berlin, Germany, as the sons of an African immigrant.

Japan Booed
The Japanese were booed off the pitch after slumping to a 3-0 defeat to Serbia during their World Cup warm up match, played in Osaka, Japan. Serbia’s Dragan Mrdja scored two goals. The Serbs looked more up for the game as compared to their Japanese counterparts. Japan captain Yuji Nakazawa told Reuters:
